Army on the Rio Grande

Hello All, been a while...
Well, unexpected digging site... went over with Benson, lil Ben, and my buddy Q, to do a lil digging yesterday.
Got there slightly before the rain and then got drenched!
Any way, my firs find within 10 minutes was a WWI era Army Button.  It has "R LIEBMANN MFG CO" on the back which narrowed it down to WWI.

A few minutes later, I got a quarter hit.  A quick plug later and out came a half dollar sized aluminum junction box cut out. Or so, I thought.

It reads: John McKeever USA
It has this number on the reverse:  440438
We figured it out to be a WWI era dog tag!
If anyone has a better idea let me know...
Gonna do some research on the person...

Good digs! Glad to see you got out! Be sure to post what you find about that item. Interesting!
