So my uncle has permission to hunt some row agriculture property west of La Joya. He mentioned that he had found some bullets on another trip so I asked him to take me to the location. He did not disappoint. Although he metal detects some, he prefers to hunt visually for arrow heads and native Mexican Indian stuff.

These are my finds from today. The blob on the right is a big chunk of lead. Strange.

Far left is a .45 cal bullet.

Can you dig it?

Re: Lead

Cool finds! One just never knows what he will find and that is what keeps our hobby fun! Keep on looking at the farm! No telling what might pop up!

Re: Lead

the big chunk of lead on the bottom right is a piece of lead shielding used in roof/vent pipes, electric lines, etc etc. son is in the construction business and brings me lots of those pieces to be melted into bullets, fishing lures/weights etc. i take a big hammer and beat it into a square after hacksawing it into smaller pieces so it will fit into a melting pot.
